Worst 5 Jewish Musicians of All Time
Seems like some of you were pissed with the omissions on our previous Top 10 Jewish Musicians list. Some of your gripes were legitimate – Lou Reed, Billy Joel – some of your comments were ridiculous - Matisyahu, Bette Midler. In any case, I want to address five musicians we purposely left off the list (Sorry your uncle Mo Goldstein who plays air guitar in your aunt’s basement does not count). As always, the worst is reserved for last. Without further delay, please find the 5 Worst Jewish Musicians of All Time.
#5 Adam Levine
Adam Levine is a hack – briefly popular in the mid 00’s, most everyone now agrees that Maroon 5 sucks. In fairness getting hot Christian Jessica Simpson to commit adultery against Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees fame is a major win for the J Team.
Number #4 Lenny Kravitz
Before everyone starts whining that he is not Jewish lets take a step back and realize the obvious. His name is KRAVITZ…Lenny Kravitz. Anyways, I actually think he is a great musician. I am just jealous that he had bedded the likes of Adriana Lima among others. His inclusion on this list is motivated by pure jealousy.
#3 Madonna aka Madonna Louise Ciccone
I know people will be divided about this one, but the only contribution to music I think Madge has ever made involves that music video for “Take a Bow” where she is slithering around in lingerie exposing a huge rack. Nice. The only way Madonna avoids this list is the very real claim that she is not Jewish. After all MADONNA does scream Catholic no? Not so sure about the whole Kabbalah thing.
#2 Adam Sandler
This actor / musician / comedian offends me on so many levels. Every time I see him I ask myself “How did this guy become famous again”. Granted his Hanukkah song is brilliant, but what else has he done besides shitty films? Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds, Billy Madison…should I continue?
#1 David Lee Roth aka Diamond Dave
After careful consideration, I have decided that David “Diamond Dave” Lee Roth is both the BEST and the WORST Jewish musician of all time. Listen to his lyrics with both Van Halen & as a soloist – great. Listen to his vocals – shit. Zero work ethic, all flash, womanizer – these are all characteristics which are BOTH repugnant and inspiring. DIAMOND DAVE is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.

Amy Winehouse should definitely be #1 on this list. Shes a trainwreck and just sucks outright… #2 im going Jack Black… You think Adam Sandler is a hack – this guy is flat out terrible. PERIOD. And according to my Google sources Courtney Love is partially Jewish so she cracks the top 3. If I can get confirmation on her Judaism she vaults to #1 easily.
I like Adam Sandler, though Kravitz does suck.

ok. adam levine is super hot and i think he is very talented. and i am somewhat divided on madonna. otherwise this is super true.
Kravitz is definitely Jewish – father is, and he was raised a heeb, bar mitzvah and all. He’s even quoted as saying the toughest part about being a black jew is keeping a yarmulke on an afro. Having said that, I can’t really put him in the ’suck’ category. There are worse. How about Adam Duritz from Counting Crows?
Adam Levine is fantastic, I have every Maroon 5 album. Besides he’s hot and he writes amazing music.
I kind of disagree…David Lee Roth is great! at least he used to be, also Adam Sandler isn’t really trying to be a serious musician so he shouldn’t be on the list, but everyone else on here totally SUCKS so it’s spot on in that respect, but (and I know this is a really bad run-on sentence) Madonna isn’t a real jew, but she does suck…
Amy Winehouse is a trainwreck, but she has a great voice and a great sound.
And Adam Sandler did do ONE really good movie: Punch-Drunk Love.

come on…first of all, madonna isn’t jewish…second of all, while he has made one song popular, adam sandler isn’t a musician, he is an actor…so work harder on this top ten list

Adam Sandler is an actor playing a part as a musician and he is great at it. So why take swipes at him as an actor. Is it because his films have a positive, hopeful outlook? I think the final scene of 50 First Dates is the best film ending of all time.
Have you never seen a Tiny Tim video? He makes all of these people look like musical geniuses. And he does it while seeming incredibly Jewish.
But then the top 10 list was pretty bad too. You included a Lou Reed inspired-musician who wasn’t actually Jewish (David Bowie) but not Lou Reed!
Adam Durwitz should be number one based on his awful hair alone. Kenny G too is quite putrid. The Beasties are fantastic, Diamond Dave in Van Halen was great. No one to this day can do those mid-air kicks like Dave did.

3 of 5 of these are fantastic, and one isn’t a musician (Sandler). But you finally have Roth in the right place. Jack Black is fantastically talented whoever said he belongs on here.
dude, Kravitz used to be the bomb. Sure he’s a big flop now, but if I only listen to the albums up until 5 he’s still golden in my books.
Ugh, this list and the last one are such crap. The only woman on the list is Madonna, who is a) not Jewish and b) roundly marginalized by summarizing her 20+ year career in music and popular culture as flashing her tits. Just because she isn’t your cup of tea (seriously? David Lee Roth?) doesn’t mean she isn’t a great musician.
Also, if you think Matisyahu belongs on a lesser plane than Billy Joel, you’re a straight up joke.
Really Adam Sandler i mean he’s not a great musician and not really to much of a musician except for like a few songs on SNL and he is a beast singer but as an actor hes fantastic he’s made some great movies, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Many more.. your crazy for this he’s a beast overall
