As much as Ryan Miller and the American goaltending could make things interesting we just don’t see enough firepower in the U.S. lineup to pull off another miracle on ice and play for a medal come February. The Swedes won the gold in 2006 and have a lot of experience and depth on the blueline but aging players such as Peter Forsberg and Niklas Lidstrom will cost them and keep them from medaling in Vancouver. Scrappy Finland led by the Finnish Flash Teemu Selanne could make things interesting… And while the thought of Sid The Kid, Martin Brodeur, and the Canadians celebrating on home ice is very tempting to pick we just can’t ignore the all-star talent on the stacked Russian team. A power play featuring Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, Ilya Kovalchuk, Sergei Gonchar, and Andrei Markov… Wow! How can any country beat the Russians?
The champions of XXI Winter Olympic Games Men’s Ice Hockey are…

Sorry, Canada wins Gold, . . . , just way too much depth, size, youth, experience, character, balance, grit, . . . , you name it,
they’ve got it !!
Team Canada all the way. Russia U.s.a and Sweden have depth, but nothing comparable to the steller Defence and offensive weapons Canada has. Lets go Crosby put them pucks in the net!
The Russian team is going to win the entire tournament guaranteed. Just look at the gambling lines for Group B – Russia is a 2/5 favorite. Group A and Group C are way harder and will definitely have an impact on teams like the Americans Canadians and Germans. If you want to see the updated Olympic Ice Hockey betting odds and point spreads here they are http://www.oddschecker.com/winter-olympics/ice-hockey. For those looking to see how you can place a bet on Men’s Olympic Ice Hockey matches that is the best website
Sidney Crosby was just named the youngest captain in the history of Team Canada. Good move IMHO by executive director Steve Yzerman
I dont know about predicting a 10th place finish by Slovakia. They have a big lineup, their goaltending could be a question and would most likely prevent them from going all the way, but dont forget that they were 5-0 after first round in 2006.
I’ve been looking all over for this!
Thanks.

I didn’t understand the concluding part of your article, could you please explain it more?
Team USA gold, Canada silver.
And, Longauer, hockey is just as important to the “cocky American bastards” as anywhere else. And it’s European*.
Well what do you know. USA beats Canada 5-3. A result none of you expected. Now Team USA is 3-0, winner of group A, and might be the #1 seed for the whole medal round. And if that’s not enough USA is leading the overall medal count for the olympics. All I can say is, USA! USA! USA!

Just really love you guys… what fantastic and well researched information. Thank you bunches.
You are so nice to share these with us.
It was hard for us to travel out of town because we didn’t have a car. It was my wife who suggested that we could just rent a car at a car rental shop. It wasn’t really that expensive and it was a good option to make because we really needed it. Thanks to my wife! My boss owned a Nissan Navarra but it broke down when we traveled last month. We needed to make another travel and so one of my colleagues suggested that we would just rent a car. It was an option since we really need to make the trip. We were successful that we got to rent a car.
