2011 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Preview – New York Rangers
It wouldn’t be New York Rangers hockey if there wasn’t some Broadway drama thrown into the mix. The NY Rangers disappointed fans last year by losing in a shootout to the Philadelphia Flyers and missing the playoffs, but, much to their excitement this year, staved off elimination by winning on the final day of the regular season and securing the East’s number eight seed. The Blue Shirts can now focus on post-season hockey for the first time in two years, staring right down the barrel of Alex Ovechkin’s gun. Will the Big Apple be celebrating a big Stanley Cup victory in 2011?
Home Games Played At: Madison Square Garden
Key Players: Marian Gaborik, Henrik Lundqvist, Brandon Dubinsky, Bryan McCabe
Head Coach: John Tortorella
How They Fared in 2010: Did not qualify for 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs
New York Rangers Playoff Prediction For 2011: NYR passed their first test. Making it to the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Their second test? Defeating Alex Ovechkin and the top seeded Washington Capitals. Is this a possibility? The easy answer is no – especially not with the recent loss of Ryan Callahan. The more complicated answer – when you have Henrik Lundqvist in goal there’s always a chance. Lundy will need to stand on his head every night and sniper Marian Gaborik will need to bring it, and stay healthy, if the Rangers want to replicate what Montreal did to Washington last year. Pull a huge opening round upset. The real answer – The New York Rangers will be golfing in about two weeks.

The most important things he does is invert his front foot which you can see perfectly at 0:27 and his EXTREMELY wide stance. This guy is exactly right about cocking his body which is the reason he turns his foot in. When you bring your hands down the butt end of your bat should be aiming right where the ball is going to end up. Your swing is 100% about what your body does, all your arms do is just follow what your body is forcing it to do. Your ENTIRE swing is in your core.
