SaveFans! Featured on Mashable’s Spark of Genius series

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

mashable SaveFans! Featured on Mashables Spark of Genius seriesPopular Tech and Social Media site Mashable.com dished out some major props to SaveFans! today, featuring our ticketing platform as part of their Spark Of Genius Series. The contest, presented by Microsoft BizSpark, “showcases a promising new software company, and finds the unique feature that separates it from the competition.”

From Mashable via their post titled:

SaveFans! Takes the Bite Out of Event Tickets

Quick Pitch: SaveFans! is an offer based ticket platform that allows users to negotiate the price paid for live event tickets.

Genius Idea: SaveFans! brings some sanity back to buying tickets. Sellers can list tickets for free and buyers can negotiate prices for tickets for sporting events, concerts and theatre shows.

I think that most concert goers or sports fans would agree that the live event industry is catered towards the promoters/ticket agencies (soon to be ruled by one company) and not the fans themselves.  View the full story:

Needless to say, we here at SaveFans! are quite appreciative of this very high honor and are excited about continuing to give you, the fans, The Power To Negotiate!

Oops Ticketmaster Did It Again… And Got CAUGHT!

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Last week we shocked the world with our exclusive post letting everyone know Ticketmaster the “Hypocrite Master” is scalping tickets directly on Ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster.ca through a program called Ticketexchange. Our readers asked for proof and as usual SaveFans! delivers.

Well wouldn’t you know Ticketmaster is scalping tickets for the pop princess herself, Britney Spears! We crunched the numbers and here are the results. A total of 15 shows are currently on sale on Ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster.ca for Britney’s Circus tour. As of Saturday, June 20th at 5pm pst,  Ticketexchange was offering a total of 5690 tickets for a whopping $1,478,550.64 (Ticketmaster is also holding high bid wins auctions and VIP seats which makes this number even higher). Here is a breakdown per show:

As if this isn’t disgusting enough, Ticketmaster is actually retailing a pair of tickets to the Las Vegas show at Mandalay Bay Resort on September 6th for $2,698.44 per ticket!!!!!!

So how do we know that Ticketmaster is responsible for these seats? Well we were lucky enough to catch a glitch on Ticketmaster’s part that placed the Ticketexchange seats on sale BEFORE the show even went on sale to the public! And since you need to register a bank account and input the bar codes from the tickets to list tickets for sale on Ticketexchange it is literally impossible that these seats could have come from anyone but a Ticketmaster insider. Here is a screen shot taken on June 19th at 3am (the show wasn’t on sale until 10am).

SaveFans! is here to “save fans” from this corporate B.S. We will continue to let you, the ticket buying public, know whats really going on out there and we will always let you pay what you want at SaveFans.com!

Bruce Springsteen Doesn’t Want His Fans Near The Stage

Friday, June 19th, 2009

bruce 300x225 Bruce Springsteen Doesnt Want His Fans Near The Stage

sold out Bruce Springsteen Doesnt Want His Fans Near The Stage

As I’m sure many of you know the recent Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band shows at the Izod Center caused quite a big ticket controversy. At the center of this controversy was Ticketmaster’s handling of these sold out shows, redirecting unknowing buyers to Ticketsnow where they could purchase tickets for over face value (I guess this is better than them secretly selling tickets on TicketExchange – but that’s a whole different blog post).

Well a recent report based on data from the Open Public Records Act shows an even more compelling story. Apparently The Boss himself is responsible for a large quantity of tickets that were held back from the ticket buying public. According to this data 2262 tickets were withheld from fans with 1018 out of 1126 best tickets (the four closest sections to the stage) not being available during the public sale.).

Where did these tickets go? You got it… Bruce’s band, agent, family, record label, and New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority! And guess what? This is ILLEGAL. NJ state law allows for an artist to withhold a maximum 5% of an arena for family, record labels, fan clubs etc. Bruce’s camp scooped up a whopping 12% of the building. And to top it off not one of these tickets were located in the upper deck, only the very best for Springsteen and his posse.).

So it appears as if Bruce Springsteen doesn’t want his real fans anywhere near the stage. And obviously Ticketmaster wants them to buy tickets for the maximum possible price on Ticketsnow and TicketExchange. The solution? Just go to SaveFans! and pay what YOU want for tickets!

If you want a better view than this try trading tickets with Bruce’s uncle. He is sitting in one of the 1,018 floor seats not released by Ticketmaster.

Bruce Springsteen Tickets are Cheaper Than Expected

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

SaveFans.com aims to be bigger than StubHub and TicketsNow. That is our goal plain and simple.

Since we have the 411 on the ticket industry, we wanted to alert you to lower than expected offers for Bruce Springsteen tickets. This can be happening for any number of reasons, but rest assured the shows are NOT selling well. This is bargain basement time as secondary market tickets are currently selling BELOW FACE VALUE.

Don’t say SaveFans.com doesn’t love you. I continue to boost the Springsteen shows and think that you should consider attending these specific performances from the Boss!

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Event Tickets at the Wachovia Spectrum on April 28
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Event Tickets at the Wachovia Spectrum on April 29
Bruce Springsteen and Dave Matthews Event Tickets at Madison Square Garden on May 3
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Event Tickets at Air Canada Centre on May 7

That’s right people. Take advantage of the cheap prices and watch Bruce Springsteen in action! Remember, we are always cheaper than StubHub!

Why Buy Tickets on SaveFans.com?

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Why should you buy tickets on SaveFans.com when larger older secondary ticket sites like StubHub, TicketsNow, and Razor Gator work fine? I will tell you why because we are cheaper, because we are cheaper, because we will save you cash money.

We started this company to provide ticket buyers and sellers with a better commerce experience. While, some of our features make this vision a reality, you want to know exactly what you are going to get right? So let me tell you.

1) Other sites charge you 10% of the transaction fee for every purchase. We charge you a flat $5. So Ticket Buyers, if you want to get sold out U2 tickets and are going to spend $1,000 to do it buy from us. We will only add a $5 fee, while StubHub, TicketsNow, and Razor Gator would charge you $100. Thats a lot of bread. Basically if your purchase is for $50 or more, use us EVERY TIME.

2) If your a seller, other sites charge you 15% of the transaction fee for every purchase. We charge you 10%. At the end of the day if you can save 33% on fees at our site, why not make us your first choice over StubHub, TicketsNow, and Razor Gator? I know you crazy sellers are going to list everywhere, but you might as well add us to your list (seeing how you only pay if your tickets sell anyways). After all, if someone buys from you at SaveFans.com, you are going to save 33% on fees.

3) Our features are kick ass.  We give you THE POWER TO NEGOTIATE for Live Event Tickets! Screw fixed price listings let’s negotiate brother!

Don’t got time – got ADD like me? Go to the yet to be named Ticket Aggregator product currently called “Buy Now”. Buy Now allows you to select your performer / show / team and let’s you pick the specific performance date. Once you decide the maximum amount of money you are willing to spend per ticket – we pull inventory from all of our broker partners that fit your budget. In the future we will pull tickets from other sites as well.

Got it? Buy from SaveFans.com FIRST if you are going to make a purchase on a secondary ticket that costs more than $50! If you are a Seller list with us and you will save 33% if someone buys your ticket.

That’s its Ladies and Gentlemen – this is why we are hot right now.
