The Green Bay Packers 59-24 drubbing of the Super Bowl runner-up Indianapolis Colts in last night’s pre-season game officially has the NFL on notice. Aaron Rodgers, considered the top QB in Fantasy Football this year, is ready to take over Brett Favre’s throne in Lambeau and lead the Packers on a deep playoff run.
Rodgers threw 3 tds, the offense scored another 3, and Green Bay put the most lopsided number of the 2010 pre-season up on the score board, 59. Perhaps the only measure of concern came on the defensive side of the ball, where Payton Manning and Co. scored big in the first half, putting up 17 points of their own. It looks like websites that offer info on football picks are expecting the “over” to be a consistent trend for the Packers and their opponents in the 2010-2011 regular season.
Green Bay Packers tickets will be melting the snow in Wisconsin this winter, especially as they look to host their first playoff game in the post Brett Favre era. Speaking of Favre, the biggest game of the season comes on 10/24, when the Green Bay hosts Minnesota. Luckily, you can negotiate the price you pay for Packers vs. Vikings tickets right here at SaveFans!, with all purchases covered by our 100% AuthenTicket Guarantee. Fans who set their price for Packers tickets at SaveFans.com during the 2009 saved a ton of money on their purchase, so expect nothing less for the 2010 season!

The 2010 College Football season is one of the most anticipated in recent memory for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Coming off a Rose Bowl victory against Oregon in January, the Buckeyes have fans beeming in Columbus. The interest is obviously there in Heisman hopeful QB Terrelle Pryor, as well as in the myriad of running back options in the backfield – Brandon Saine, Daniel “Boom” Herron, and Jaamal Berry.
As usual, Jim Tressel can call upon one of the Big Ten’s best defensive corps to protect late game leads, and top recruiting classes the past two years for depth at every position.
Looking at the 2010 Ohio State football schedule, most of their key games come at home. Assuming they can win games at the Horseshoe against Miami on 9/11, Penn St. on 11/13, and their big rivals, Michigan on 11/27, there is a good chance we will see the Buckeyes in Glendale, AZ at the 2011 BCS National Championship Game.
For those looking to purchase Ohio State Buckeyes tickets, SaveFans! is the place to be. SaveFans.com is the only website that allows Tide fans to negotiate the price they play for Ohio State Football tickets, with all purchases covered by our 100% AuthenTicket Guarantee and industry low $5 flat per transaction service charge.

Our 2010 NFL preview rolls right through the Steel City with a peek at the Pittsburgh Steelers. A franchise known for a punishing ground game and stifling defense changed their DNA in 2009, opening up their air attack and handing off the reigns off to QB Ben Roethlisberger. While the offense produced more points than past seasons, the defense gave up even more, resulting in the defending Super Bowl champs missing the playoffs entirely. The Steelers can look back to an awful mid-season run, where the Black and Gold lost five straight games, including defeats to the lowly Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cleveland Browns. The start of the 2010 Pittsburgh Steelers season could look eerily similar, as Roethlisberger is suspended for the first six games for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. While that suspension could be reduced to four games, it will still put a lot of pressure on 3rd year, and little used QB, Dennis Dixon. While Rashard Mendenhall will carry a big load on the ground during the stretch, it will be tough for the Steelers to win early. Pitt will be playing catchup all year as Big Ben tries to get into playing shape in the middle of the season. The Ravens and Bengals will stay ahead of the Steelers in the AFC North standings, and we expect Pittsburgh to miss the NFL playoffs in 2010 for the 2nd straight season.

Key Players: Ben Roethlisberger, Hines Ward, LaMarr Woodley, Dennis Dixon, Rashard Mendenhall

Our 2010 NFL preview continues with a team that was one snap away from a Super Bowl appearance last year, the Minnesota Vikings. When discussing the Vikings, the invertible question comes to mind – will Brett Favre play this season or finally stay retired? After the usual back and forth banter, Favre has come to the usual conclusion. The 40 year old veteran will return for one “final” season in 2010. Favre’s decision to play for the Vikes this year immediately catapults them to the top of the NFC North, one step ahead of his old team, the Green Bay Packers, and right in the mix for the NFC Championship with the Saints and Cowboys. What will ultimately separate the Vikings from the rest of the class of the NFC is the play of 4th year running back, Adrian Peterson. Peterson was widely considered the top pick in fantasy football two seasons ago, but is now thought of as second fiddle to Chris Johnson. If Adrian Peterson can cure his fumble issues and regain his form as the best backfield player in the NFL, and Jared Allen can once again anchor a top-tier defense, then we have the purple and gold penciled in for a spot in the Super Bowl in Dallas. If not, than expect the Vikings to bow out early in the playoffs, and probably never see Brett Favre again until his gives his Hall of Fame acceptance speech in Canton.
Home Games Played At: Mall of America Field at Hubert Humphrey Metrodome
Key Players: Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson, Jared Allen, Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin
Head Coach: Brad Childress
How They Fared in 2009: 12-4, 1st in NFC North – Lost in NFC Championship Game to New Orleans Saints

Our 2010 NFL preview begins in the AFC Conference, with a look at the New York Jets. The Jets have probably been the most talked about team in the National Football League this offseason, mostly for reasons unrelated to the gridiron. Coming off a Cinderella-like run to the AFC Championship game last season, a year worth of experience for sophomore QB Mark Sanchez, the additions of Hall of Fame RB LaDainian Tomlinson & Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes, and starring under the glaring lights of the hit reality television program, HBO Hard Knocks Jets 2010, everything should like golden to the green and white. However, Pro-Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis has the Jets mired in a nasty holdout, and without their best defensive player, New York fans may have to reconsider their lofty expectations for the 2010-11 season. Rex Ryan is the most entertaining coach in the NFL, and we expect nothing less than entertainment for the rest of these reality-star-in-the-making NY Jets. We do not expect, however, for the Jets to unseed Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the AFC East, but a wildcard and playoff berth should be close to a lock.
Home Games Played At: New Meadowlands Stadium
Key Players: Mark Sanchez, Darrelle Revis, Shonn Greene, LaDainian Tomlinson, Santonio Holmes

2010 NY Jets Prediction: 2nd in AFC East, AFC Wildcard

Defending College Football National Champions, the Alabama Crimson Tide, top both the USA Coaches Poll and ESPN Power Rankings to to kick off the 2010 season.
The pre-season accolades come as no shock, as the University of Alabama is lead by one of the nation’s best coaches in Nick Saban, and returns eight starters on the offensive side of the ball. Included in those players is the 2009 Heisman Trophy winner, running back Mark Ingram, undefeated senior quarterback, Greg McElroy, and junior standout wide receiver, Julio Jones.
Bama will have to make up for a lack of experience on defense, as the Tide lost nine players to graduation and to the NFL. While pro scouts are high on defensive end Marcell Dareus, the secondary could pose a huge problem. Alabama needs to replace three out of four starters, as well as all backups, at cornerback and safety.
It will be tough for Alabama to bring back-to-back titles home to fans in Tuscaloosa. History is not on the side of the Crimson Tide when it comes to the prospect of repeating, as the last team to do so was the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 1994-95.
For those looking to purchase Alabama Crimson Tide tickets, SaveFans! is the place to be. SaveFans.com is the only website that allows Tide fans to negotiate the price they play for Alabama Football tickets, with all purchases covered by our 100% AuthenTicket Guarantee and industry low $5 flat per transaction service charge.

We are less than 24 hours away from the biggest free-agency signing in the history of sports. LeBron James has kept everyone guessing as to which team he will play for in 2010. Will he re-sign with his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers? Will he join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh with the Miami Heat and make the most dominant “Big 3″ ever? How about taking to the Big Apple and pairing with newly signed Amare Stoudemire in NYC as a member of the New York Knicks? Or, if he really wants to win multiple NBA Championships, how about joining the up-and-coming Chicago Bulls roster which includes Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, and Carlos Boozer?
“The Decision” will air tomorrow night on ESPN, a one-hour special during which LeBron will announce his future plans to the world. It will end the speculation once and for all, putting a close to the TMZ-like reporting of ESPN analysts Chris Broussard, Marc Stein, J.A. Adande, Ric Bucher, John Hollinger, and so on.
Think you have the inside scoop as to where LeBron will sign? Are you so confident you would wager cold hard cash on it? Well, check out Intrade.com, which actually lets you bet on where LeBron will play next year!

As much as the Cavs are the odds on favorites, the latest money has the NY Knicks second (up 14%), and the Heat charging hard (up 22%). We tend to agree with Jared Dudley of the Phoenix Suns latest tweet, and expect LeBron to be in a #6 New York Knicks jersey next season.

Let us know which NBA you think LeBron James will sign with by leaving a comment below:

When you think UCLA vs. USC, you think of one of college football’s most storied rivalries… Bruins vs. Trojans, Pac-10 battle, The Coliseum, The Rose Bowl.
On 6/28, 6/29, and possibly 6/30, it will mean something completely different. The UCLA Bruins will go after their first ever NCAA Baseball National Championship as they match-up against the University of South Carolina Gamecocks (USC) at the 2010 College World Series at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, NE.
The 2010 CWS concludes the six decade history of Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium. The 2011 College World Series will christen theĀ TD Ameritrade Park, a brand-new, state-of-the-art downtown facility, which features luxury suites, posh club level seating, additional capacity, and other amenities.
The UCLA vs South Carolina 2010 College World Series Finals is a best 2 out of 3 series beginning Monday. UCLA will be the home team in Game 1, South Carolina in Game 2, and UCLA again if a rubber match is necessary.

The NBA and NHL off-seasons got a little more exciting this past week, with the annual league drafts breathing life into some struggling franchises. Star-in-the-making players, like first overall picks John Wall and Taylor Hall, have fans beaming in Washington DC and Edmonton.
The Washington Wizards drafted Kentucky Wildcats guard John Wall with the first pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. The Wizards are hoping for production similar to Chicago Bulls point guard, and number one draft pick, Derrick Rose, who took home Rookie of the Year honors in 2008.
The Edmonton Oilers selected Windsor left wing Taylor Hall with the first pick in the 2010 NHL Draft. It has been a slow decline for the Oilers since reaching the Stanley Cup Finals in 2006, as the franchise owned the worst record in the league in 2009-10. If Hall pans out like 2008 Tampa Bay Lightning number one draft pick Steven Stamkos, who topped the NHL in goals last year, the storied franchise could see a quick rebound and possible playoff appearance.
Some players drafted in 2010 will become household names, others will be busts. With free agency looming in July, it will be interesting to see if teams can get over the hump and dethrone the 2010 NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers and 2010 NHL Champion Chicago Blackhawks.
