Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

nba all star game dallas 20101 150x150 2010 NBA All Star Game Rosters and NBA All Star Game Tickets“I love this game” has a little extra meaning this year as the elite of the National Basketball Association take to the court at the ‘10 NBA AllStar Game at Dallas Cowboys Stadium on Valentine’s Day Feb 14th 2010.

The NBA All-Star voting is wrapping up with some surprising selections for the West and East Rosters. NBA staples Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Dwight Howard, and Carmelo Anthony obviously will play in Dallas but Allen Iverson and Tracy McGrady? Both players weren’t even wanted by their own franchise this season! There is something to be said for the NBA fans having a say in who makes the AllStar teams but the votes seem a little off…

Part of the glitz and glam of NBA All-Star weekend includes some great annual events, the 2010 NBA All Star Rookie Game and the 2010 NBA All Star Saturday Night. Per NBA.com:

“NBA AllStar Saturday Night will take place at the American Airlines Center and includes four competitions featuring some of the NBA’s best players. The Haier Shooting Stars competition features NBA, WNBA player and NBA Legends in a shooting contest. The Taco Bell Skills Challenge, a contest of top guards working against the clock to complete a series of passes, free throws, lay-ups and agility drills. The Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout where six of the best long-range shooters compete against each other and the clock in a test of accuracy. The evening’s grand finale, the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest, will showcase some of the NBA’s best athelets as they take to the air mystifying fans with their gravity-defying creativity.”

2010 3 Point Contest participant predictions:
Daquan Cook (Miami Heat), Danilo Gallinari (N.Y. Knicks), Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavs), Ray Allen (Boston Celtics), Mo Williams (Cleveland Cavs), Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers)

2010 Slam Dunk Contest participants (confirmed):
Nate Robinson (NY Knicks), Shannon Brown (LA Lakers), Gerald Wallace (Charlotte Bobcats), and the winner of dunk-in contestants DeMar DeRozan (Toronto Raptors) and Eric Gordon (Los Angeles Clippers)

Oops Ticketmaster Did It Again… And Got CAUGHT!

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Last week we shocked the world with our exclusive post letting everyone know Ticketmaster the “Hypocrite Master” is scalping tickets directly on Ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster.ca through a program called Ticketexchange. Our readers asked for proof and as usual SaveFans! delivers.

Well wouldn’t you know Ticketmaster is scalping tickets for the pop princess herself, Britney Spears! We crunched the numbers and here are the results. A total of 15 shows are currently on sale on Ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster.ca for Britney’s Circus tour. As of Saturday, June 20th at 5pm pst,  Ticketexchange was offering a total of 5690 tickets for a whopping $1,478,550.64 (Ticketmaster is also holding high bid wins auctions and VIP seats which makes this number even higher). Here is a breakdown per show:

As if this isn’t disgusting enough, Ticketmaster is actually retailing a pair of tickets to the Las Vegas show at Mandalay Bay Resort on September 6th for $2,698.44 per ticket!!!!!!

So how do we know that Ticketmaster is responsible for these seats? Well we were lucky enough to catch a glitch on Ticketmaster’s part that placed the Ticketexchange seats on sale BEFORE the show even went on sale to the public! And since you need to register a bank account and input the bar codes from the tickets to list tickets for sale on Ticketexchange it is literally impossible that these seats could have come from anyone but a Ticketmaster insider. Here is a screen shot taken on June 19th at 3am (the show wasn’t on sale until 10am).
