Keeping in touch with our fans and bringing YOU information on the world of live events is job #1 for us here at the SaveFans! Blog. While my Spanish might not be impecable my ears are and I know talented artists when I hear them. Case and point is our first Latin Artist Spotlight, Wisin Y Yandel. This Puerto Rican Grammy and Latin Grammy winning reggaeton duo can flat out light up the stage. In fact they are on tour now and I strongly suggest you check them out.
Metallica is on tour in a city near you! As always your humble servant has the low down on some extra special Metallica shows with some extra special secret guests. I want to rank what I believe to be are the best 6 shows starting with number 6!
Kick- Ass Show #6 Munich, Germany
I know that most of our site visitors are American’s but this is the tour opener. And how metal is Germany! Great way to kick-off the tour. Ladies yours truly will be in Germany in early May – I might not be James Hetfield but I can rock out
I love me my Spanish and Latin women. Oh yeah, this is a much anticipated show that is going to feature some up and coming European metal bands. Yeah they exist.
This is their 2nd show in the United States! Should be a good one, just be careful – the Cincinnati Bengals football team is on the prowl and they are not afraid to lay the smack down!
Minnesota is a fine state. Minneapolis is a fine city and the birthplace of Prince and comedian Mitch Hedburg. Going to be a rocking show – third best on the whole tour!
So, I have been thinking. I have been kind of stressed out lately maybe a bit on edge. What should I do? PHISH CONCERT! Good way to mellow out maybe smoke….maybe not
You gotta go see Phish. Rumored to be breaking up permanently, this may be the last time to see them together in action. Phish show tickets are almost completely sold out so, I wanted to recommend some East Coast shows that I believe will be particularly tasty.
So there you go. Four shows in three cities (Wantagh, New York, Mansfield, Massachusetts, and Camden, New Jersey). Watch your cars in Camden and party with some fresh tunes!
So, I was watching TV today – hungover and tired from last night’s escapades. Flipping the channels and lo and behold everyone’s favorite feel good film Almost Famous pops up on HBO. It was the scene where the kid reporter was freaking out when suddenly Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” hit’s the airwaves. Before long Billy Crudup and the less talented actors were chiming in and all is right in the world – fantastic.
Anyways, my point is simple. Elton John is great and he is even better in concert. Get your Elton John Event Tickets at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas or see him in concert with Billy Joel. We think it is worth your time, so I want to recommend a view venues for the Elton John and Billy Joel spectacular myself.
Hey people – in keeping with the Passover theme, I wanted to let everyone know that Perry Ferrell is going to take part in a benefit concert in New York City called Road Recovery Benefit on May the 1st. Playing live from the Nokia Theater in Times Square with Jerry Cantrell and Wayne Kramer.
In commemoration of Passover, we have put together an all-time contender list of the Top 10 Jewish musicians. We have interviewed the experts, put a lot of thought into this (15 minutes tops) and are pretty comfortable saying that this is the list that will be referenced for many a Passover to come! To add to the suspense, we are going to start with Number #10 and work our way down to el mero mero / Big Boss Number #1. Yeah – I am pumped!
Personally, I am not a big KISS fan. But, hey this is a guy who has slept with THOUSANDS of women. That is amazing and I am in awe. Additionally, I admire his savvy as a marketer. After all, we are talking about someone who many consider to be more a business man than a musician (talkin about you Bob Leftez).
Perry Farrell, currently masquerading around an LA club near you as DJ Peretz is a genius. I know that most people agree with me on this, but I still feel like he doesn’t get enough love from mainstream hacks and the casual listener. I once watched him live and I have to tell you – the founder of Jane’s Addiction, Lollapalooza brings the noise.
My surprise choice! But, hey Randy is a talented songwriter and composer with a unique perspective. Plus how many times do you hear morning talk shows and sports teams rocking out to “I Love LA” in Los Angeles? Gotta show Randy some love.
My lone group choice is going in mid-list. The boys from Brooklyn were representing Jews and white people alike in the rap game years before Eminem was around. Kudos to
Another old school choice. For those of you that don’t know, Burt Bacharach is basically the standard by which all musical writers are compared. Think “The Look of Love” and “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head”. In my humble opinion, I think Burt can perform quite well and is obviously a world class pianist. Or maybe I am just saying this because my little sister is friends with his son and she said he is a down to earth guy. Whatever…
America’s favorite androgynous sweetheart. Famous for taking on the immensely creative persona of alien Mick Jagger – Bowie is a headline maker. For those of you that aren’t hip enough to know, Brazilian musician Seu Jorge – Knockout Ned from City of God – re-worked his Life in Mars album in Portuguese. Fantastic stuff.
Apart from his weak time wardrobe – Neil Diamond is a very talented man. Not exactly my cup of tea, but this guy knows how to move Neil Diamond concert tickets. Don’t mess with Neil.
I love Paul Simon. This is a musician’s musician with great material ranging from “Down by the School Yard” to that horrendous Daughter Song he released a few years back. Also kudos to Chevy Chase for appearing in his videos – that added to his credibility I am sure.
The original “America’s Poet” has been rocking out ever since he went electric. Bob Dylan is great and no one can touch him in terms of his artistic achievement. Even better he accomplished everything he set out to do without having any ability to sing! Crazy…
There are a lot of more deserving musicians who didn’t make this list (Billy Joel, Lou Reed etc). This is due to a number of reasons (alcohol, carelessness etc.) But I have to be honest – Diamond Dave is Number #1 in my book because he is a PIMP. I read his biography and was blown away. This guy ran through chicks like his name was Wilt Chamberlain. It is also inspiring to learn that you can become uber rich by completely disregarding your craft, whoring, and generally doing things your own way….the Diamond Dave way!
