Fan Freedom Project Fights Ticketmaster Live Nation Paperless Ticket Policies

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

The founding team at SaveFans! launched our service to help change the ticket industry. As fans ourselves, we believe that event go’ers should have access to tickets at the lowest possible prices, pay the lowest possible fees, and have input in the price they pay. Thus, SaveFans! was born, giving consumers the “Power To Negotiate.”

It seems as if Ticketmaster / LiveNation does not share in our belief system. Beginning in 2009, the two companies began instituting a Paperless Tickets system, which eliminated many of the rights given to a ticket owner. Transferability is limited, lines are longer, fees are higher – all to increase the bottom line of, you guessed it, Ticketmaster & LiveNation.

We encourage all fans of live events to support Fan Freedom Project. They have plenty of news and updates regarding your ticket holder rights, and they shed some light on the truth behind paperless ticketing. Here is video to learn more about their mission.

SaveFans! Featured on Mashable’s Spark of Genius series

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

mashable SaveFans! Featured on Mashables Spark of Genius seriesPopular Tech and Social Media site Mashable.com dished out some major props to SaveFans! today, featuring our ticketing platform as part of their Spark Of Genius Series. The contest, presented by Microsoft BizSpark, “showcases a promising new software company, and finds the unique feature that separates it from the competition.”

From Mashable via their post titled:

SaveFans! Takes the Bite Out of Event Tickets

Quick Pitch: SaveFans! is an offer based ticket platform that allows users to negotiate the price paid for live event tickets.

Genius Idea: SaveFans! brings some sanity back to buying tickets. Sellers can list tickets for free and buyers can negotiate prices for tickets for sporting events, concerts and theatre shows.

I think that most concert goers or sports fans would agree that the live event industry is catered towards the promoters/ticket agencies (soon to be ruled by one company) and not the fans themselves.  View the full story:

Needless to say, we here at SaveFans! are quite appreciative of this very high honor and are excited about continuing to give you, the fans, The Power To Negotiate!

Kings Canadian Night At Staples CenterIf you buy tickets to see The Los Angeles Kings take on the Vancouver Canucks on October 29th at Staples Center you will get to see something other than great hockey action… Yes yes, Anze Kopitar, Ryan Smyth, Dustin Brown, Roberto Luongo, and the Sedin Twins will all be in the building. However all ticket purchases include a FREE concert after the game at Club Nokia (LA Live) featuring none other than Canada’s premier band, The Tragically Hip!

The Tragically Hip is a Canadian rock band that first formed in Kingston, Ontario in 1983.  Band members include Gordon Downie (lead vocals and guitar), Paul Langlois (guitar), Rob Baker (guitar), Gord Sinclair (bass) and Johnny Fay (drums).

Commonly referred to as The Hip, the band has produced 12 studio albums, holds the record for most number one debuts on the Canadian Albums Chart and is a member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame (inducted in 2005).  The band soon will begin a fall tour supporting their latest album, We Are The Same (released in April of 2009).” – (source press release from NHL.com)

Los Angeles Kings Optimal Pricing Tickets Program – Bad For NHL Season Ticket Holders

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

kings optimal pricing staples center 300x90 Los Angeles Kings Optimal Pricing Tickets Program Bad For NHL Season Ticket Holders

It was announced earlier today that Ticketmaster is launching a Los Angeles Kings 10 game Optimal Price ticketing program. Terms of the program for the LA based NHL team is explained here:

Its slightly confusing how “This structure will reward fans who purchase tickets early, all while ensuring that Season Ticket Members still receive the best price on tickets.”

It would seem if you purchase your tickets early and the price drops you will not be rewarded. The same goes for Season Ticket Holders… Why would you purchase your season in advance if tickets could be had the day of the game for cheaper? And who is setting these ”Optimal” prices and is it a computer algorithm adjusting them?

All a little much to digest, and slightly confusing at the same time.

No offense to Ticketmaster but shouldn’t YOU set the price of tickets not a computer program? Shouldn’t YOU be able to choose the seats you want not a Ticketmaster automated process?

Try SaveFans! simple approach to dynamic ticket pricing. Find your event, pick your tickets, NEGOTIATE the price you pay. Compare our Los Angeles Kings ticket buying experience to Ticketmaster’s and you can thank us from your seats!
