Rock legend Roger Waters is bringing the Wall back for a major North American Tour!

History was made on November 30th, 1979, the day Pink Floyd released their 11th album: The Wall. A legendary career came to a shocking end this week as Penn State fired its ironman football coach, Joe Paterno amidst a disturbing scandal. The Penn State football program has been turned upside down when information came out involving former defensive coach Jerry Sandusky and his inappropriate and quite frankly disgusting and disturbing sexual actions involving young boys in the Penn State football facilities. Mike McQueary will still be a coach for the Nittany Lions as they take the field at home against the Nebraska Cornhuskers this weekend. A move in itself that has raised a lot eyebrows and red flags. It was McQueary who was the key witness to the incidents in the shower room in 2002, it was McQueary who never contacted the police about it. Somehow, he still has a job, for now. The Jerry Sandusky Grand Jury testimony transcript was agonizing to read. The fact that Joe Paterno’s name is printed throughout it, will haunt the legendary coaches legacy forever.

As tragic and sad this scandal is to not only the football program at Penn State, but to the victims and their families, the show must go on. Joe Paterno, a fixture of Penn State football for more than half a century is no more. His legacy, crushed. His team, not his anymore. But life must continue for the Nittany Lions and they will be the focus of the sports world this Saturday as they play host to the ‘huskers at Beavers Stadium.

From the beginning, Sonny Moore was doing things that no one else was doing. Something different. Something exciting. After a few years touring on and off as a supporting act on festivals like the Vans Warped Tour, Sonny got tired of doing the same old thing as everyone else. He began experimenting with a new concept, he would end up changing the face of modern music forever.

Fact is, Sonny Moore is now the king of the jungle. His alter ego; Skrillex is a hero to a generation of music lovers that will pass their love for a genre they never would have known about had Sonny not been bored with the norm. A whole crop of DJ’s have spawned from his creation and for the first time in America (this has been happening overseas for years by the way, just like Spotify, but thats a post for another time) the DJ’s are the rockstars. Rock and Roll hits the road as Guns N Roses announce an all new tour!

It’s been 25 years since the release of “Appetite for Destruction” and the arrival of Guns N Roses on the music scene. An arrival that would change the world as we knew it. Since then, the group has gone on to sell an astounding 100 million records worldwide including #1′s with “Appetite” and the “Use Your Illusion” Parts 1 and 2. It’s been a rocky road for the band since then, most notably the collapse of the bands main line up due to infighting. The bad news is frontman Axl Rose and guitar god Slash have yet to reconcile. The good news, that hasn’t stopped Axl from taking the classic music of GNR on the road for a live tour of the US and Canada. Sure the new band isnt the same as the players from the record we owned 3 copies of. Sure Dizzy Reed is the only member who has survived the longest with Axl (over 20 years as of this writing), but who are we kidding here? It’s still a live show with Axl Rose belting out songs from a catalogue of hits that was the soundtrack of a generation. As much as we’d love to see Rose and Slash burry the hatchet already (see; Van Halen), we are still beyond excited that we will be getting our Guns N Roses fix this year LIVE and we can’t wait to go! The tour continues through December 8th with a finale at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Hall of Famer Paul Simon is going out on tour!

When going through the list of current touring artists that we here at Savefans! would actually want to shell out our hard earned dollars to see, one name in particular jumps off the page: Paul Simon. This is definitely a tour you should go out of your way to see. Not that you will need to go too far out of your way. Paul Simon has done a good job making sure fans all over the US get a chance to come out and see him live, selecting citys and venues that some other acts never think about hitting. Small towns are treated like big towns, which is fitting for an artist who has always been bigger than his size. See Paul Simon live while you still can, this just may be your last chance.
